THE GREAT SMOKIES/ BLUE RIDGE EXPERIENCE

We pick up our rides just outside of Atlanta, GA and after a little scenic interstate riding and a lot of two lane twisties, we arrive at our first stop, a quaint but very convenient motel in Waynesville, North Carolina. Here we have our welcome dinner, and enjoy the cool mountain air.  The next morning, after a short briefing, we ride west for a breath taking journey on the Cherokola Skyway and then on to Gatlinburg Tn for our next night staying at a motel with balconies hanging out over the river in downtown Gatlinburg.  The next morning, we are off through some of the Tennessee Mountains back into North Carolina over the big Mountain Scenic Highway and onto the Blue Ridge Parkway arriving at Little Switzerland for a stay at a great mountain top resort.

The next morning, we travel along the Blue Ridge Parkway with stops at Linville Falls and Grandfather Mountain, ending the day in Blowing Rock, North Carolina for the evening.  The following day includes a lot of twisty roads on the way to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock with a stay at a lakeside resort built in the 1920’s.  That evening we take a sunset boat cruise on the lake followed by a great dinner.  The next morning there is a few hours of interesting back roads on the way to Asheville.  We check into the hotel and then go and tour The Biltmore, the largest private home in America.  There is a lot to see, so you have the rest of the afternoon to see all that you want and then head back to the front gate and our hotel.  The next morning, we begin our scenic ride south to Georgia for a night stay at a resort on Lake Lanier.  Here we have our farewell banquet and the next morning it is a short ride back to Atlanta to turn in our rides.
