We begin our journey near the Phoenix airport. Heading north up into the high desert, we pass through Prescott, Arizona winding our way up to Jerome, a mining town turned ghost town for lunch. After some time for seeing the sights, we continue on to one of the more challenging twisty roads up to Sedona. We take a long break in Sedona and then ride up into the mountains for a welcome dinner and a nights rest in Flagstaff.
The next morning, we travel through Winslow, Arizona for a ride and stops in the Petrified Forest and a look at the Painted Desert. We continue on to Mesa Verde National Park for a look at how the ancient cliff dwellers live and spend the evening in Durango, Colorado. The next day, we head north along the “Million Dollar Highway” through Telluride and passed many million dollar views. We continue on passed Monument Valley, the sight of many John Wayne and other movies for a quiet evening on the Navajo Indian reservation. This is a longer than usual day of riding with some incredible scenery.
We proceed through the Navajo reservation, continuing through Kanab, UT and into Zion National Park for some sightseeing and a memorable night at the lodge. We have time for more sightseeing in the morning and then through the Kaibab National Forest for two nights on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. This Rim gets only 10% of the visitors but has the most incredible views and is full of wildlife.
After two nights at the canyon, we ride south to Cave Creek AZ for our farewell dinner and afternoon and evening in a quiet and eclectic little town outside of Phoenix.
